Saniyah's Spices- How It All Started
Saniyah Jean-Georges, a 19 year old freshman in college, has wanted to start Saniyah's Spices since she was a 14 year old freshman in high school. A friend of hers gave her the idea to start selling the spice creations she made and since then, she had a vision and stuck with it. From mixing spices she found in her parent's cabinet, to multiple failed startup attempts, to many different attempts to upkeep a social media presence, Saniyah came one step closer to accomplishing her dream.
Dreams are easier said than done and Saniyah had to do a lot on the backend to make Saniyah's Spices what it is now. If failing to start Saniyah's Spices was hard, seeing it through was about 10 times harder. When Saniyah wasn't in school trying to maintain her 3.1 GPA or working 25-30 hours a week at a local restaurant, she spent all her free time buying her LLC, paying for her copyrights and licenses, setting up the Saniyah's Spices website, coming up with all the different flavors and recipes, contacting distributors for all the supplies, paying for the logos, and... (okay, if I listed everything, this paragraph would need it's own page on the site :D). Nonetheless, all the hard work and sleepless nights were all worth it in order to see all of it come into fruition.
Saniyah's Spices may be starting small for now but over time we will get bigger, better, and try our damndest to leave a place in your kitchens, some flavor in your dishes, and some spice in your lives.
Saniyah's Spices has not gotten to the place it is without help so I'd like to take the time to say thank you.
Thank you to God, through and through for getting me to all the places I’ve been and all the places I’ll go.
Thank you to my parents for their constant love, prayers, support and support from the very beginning.
Thank you to the few friends I told about my journey that understood why I was always busy, had faith in my ideas, and encouraged me to do what I love.
Thank you to my aunts, uncles, and cousins that I am close to, who provided local, national, and international support, encouragement, and love.
Thank you to my coworkers, managers, and bosses at my current and past jobs who've taught me about bravery, being assertive, working as a team, and overall building a sense of community with people of all walks of life, without even knowing it.
